Only the person who has faith in himself is able to be faithful to others. Erich Fromm

Only when you can trust yourself and have the confidence to demonstrate that trust can you have faith. Faith is implicit knowledge that your mind and heart are synchronized and then metaphorically speaking, you have the rare ability to see when blindfolded and touch from afar. When you trust yourself, it means you have the confidence in your abilities and trust yourself to make the right moves and take the right decisions. That is when you can have faith in others and you remain faithful and loyal to others. The reason is not hard to see. Your innate understanding of yourself, transcribes itself into a powerhouse of positive energy, a fireball of enthusiasm and a cauldron of virtues, all focused on galvanizing the society in general and the people around you in particular to become change agents. The beginning is rooted in the implicit trust you have in them to become effective change agents.

When you operate from a strong personal self belief, your attitude is not just positive but it is proactive. You seek to initiate action and draw a team of like minded people around you. You place your faith in their abilities and your cushioned by your personal faith in yourself to steady the boat in case you encounter rough weather or unforeseen glitches. More than all this is your ability to back up your team, your confidants and your supporters with your unconditional and complete faith in their acumen, zeal and ability to deliver.

Remember: Faith is not trying to believe something regardless of the evidence; faith is daring something regardless of the consequences” Sherwood Eddy

Try these:

  1. When you have a minor illness which unfortunately is not getting cured by home remedies, you would be forced to see your doctor. How often have you got faster relief after visiting the doctor?  How much of the cure do you attribute to your faith in the doctor?
  2. When you are unable to locate your valuables/ keys / document do you panic? How do you calm yourself? How often have you retrieved the misplaced item after you have searched again calmly? Did faith in yourself have a role to play in finding the lost items?
